Most Reverend Michael W Fisher, Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo, and Reverend Bryan Zielenieski, Vicar for Renewal and Development, held a press conference yesterday where they made the announcement on the official church closings/mergers in the Buffalo Diocese.
In our Parish Family #15 (Akron Clarence Roman Catholic Community), Sacred Heart of Jesus, Bowmansville will join our family and along with Our Lady of Peace become secondary worship sites to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sacred Heart is and will continue to be designated as a diocesan shrine. The affected parishes will be in conversation and updates to follow.
