We, the Catholic Faith community of St. Teresa of Avila parish,
guided by the Holy Spirit,
commit ourselves to proclaim and follow the
Good News of Jesus Christ.
Basing our lives on faith, hope, and love,
we seek to meet our needs and the spiritual and corporal needs
of those around us.
It is our humble
prayer that our lives will be visible signs of
His presence in the world as we
celebrate Christ in His Word and Sacraments.

Blessed Be God Forever!

Congratulations  to  the  Denver  Broncos  on  their Superbowl  victory.  I  have  no  allegiance  to
either  team,  but  Peyton  Manning  has  always  seemed  like  a  class  act, and  I  was happy for him.
Condolences to the Carolina fans.  There's always next year! (This is our perennial anthem in Buffalo)
Last week I was surprised that I could stand outside and shake hands after Mass in January. This week I
was surprised to attend a chicken  barbecue  in  February!  Had  a  great  meal  thanks  to  our
local Boy Scout Troop.

Speaking of feeding the masses, our Annual Fish Fry is swiftly approaching on Friday, February 26th!
Last year we ran out of fish quickly so consider a pre-sale ticket to lock in your dinner.

Food will also be the first order of business at the first session of  our  March  Mission.  I  hinted  about
this  last  week,  and  full details are now available elsewhere in this bulletin. We hope you will come
and check it out. Please say a prayer that many former parishioners might take this opportunity to return.

So, football ends and Lent begins, all in the same week. That's a  rough  deal!  I  invite  you  to  make
it  your  "Best  Lent  Ever"  by visiting dynamiccatholic.com/Lent and signing up for their daily video
emails.  Matthew Kelly is a moving (and funny) Catholic speaker, and I think you'll be encouraged by
his thoughts.

Lent is the Church playoffs, so let's bring our top game for the next 40 days.
